Commemoration of Victory in Europe Day/WWII Memorial Day
The American – Eastern European Council is inviting members of the community to join the WWII Veterans, their family members, and friends to commemorate Victory in Europe Day which marks the defeat of the Nazi forces and remembers the estimated 50 million people who died during World War II. A commemoration day is an act of admiration and remembrance of all who fought against the Nazis during WWII. Today, Victory Day has been overshadowed by the Russian invasion and acts of inhumanity that remind us too well of what we celebrate each year on this day. The commemoration will also have an educational impact on the community and the younger generation.
